Interreligious council of Uganda has also expressed concern over the revised electoral road map for 2020/21 general elections.

Among the key concerns include; whether the online campaigns or use of the media such as radio, TV ,newspapers, internet will be accessible by all Ugandans, whether new political aspirants will be at a disadvantage ,whether the time frame is enough to ensure fair and effective participation in the election ,whether the electoral commission will implement the high court ruling that ordered them to ensure that prisoners and Ugandans living in the diaspora participate in elections .

This has been revealed to the press after a closed meeting between the officials of the electoral commission and members of the Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU)  led by the Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramathan Mubaje.

In the statement read by the chairperson elders forum in IRCU Pastor John kakembo, the council has received numerous messages from the public about the matter blaming them for keeping silent on the revised road map.

However the deputy chairperson electoral commission Hajjati Aisha Lubega welcomed the concerns but emphasised that the high court ruling which orders them to ensure that prisoners and Ugandans living abroad participate in the elections may not be possible in the 2021 election.
