The Parliamentary Chaplain from the Uganda Episcopal Conference Fr. Ponsiano Kaweesa has prayed for the Parliament to deliberate wisely as the country heads to the general elections.

In his special prayer to the legislators at the end of the Parliamentary public week Fr. Kaweesa noted that elections are for all and meant to generate joy and harmony.

Every Year Parliament organised a parliamentary week where the public gets an opportunity to visit the house for interface and also get an opportunity to hold a public parliament which is going to be hosted this afternoon at the parliamentary chamber.

However Fr. Kaweesa says this interface should not be for formality but an opportunity for mutual interaction that can seal the bond of the electorate and the legislators for the good of this country.

The prayer comes as the country slept with a surprise that put to the question whether the 2021 elections will be held after the state minster for planning David Bahati presented to parliament a budget request for the government to borrow over UGX 500 bn to cater for the general elections.
