The Highcourt Civil division in Kampala has issued an order prohibiting police in future to assume powers purporting to authorise/sanction music shows or any other social events organised by Abtex and Bajjo.

This has come after justice Esta Nambayo faulting police for illegally halting Bobi wine’s Kyarenga music concerts last year organised by promoters Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo and Abtex Musinguzi .

In her judgement justice Nambayo has questioned the decision making process of AIGP Asuman Mugenyi who on the 19th/April 2019 wrote a letter on behalf of IGP Martin Okoth Ochola stopping the Kyarenga music shows basing on the previous concerts which he said fell short of the agreed guidlines for security and lawfulness  and also not giving a chance to Bajjo and Abtex to explain.

However court has made no orders to any monetery refunds despite Bajjo and Abtex pleading that they had paid Bobiwine over 100 million shillings out of the agreed 230 million shillings for the Kyarenga Extra concerts .

Bajjo and Abtex sued the Inspector General of police and the Attorney General following the cancellation of shows for a declaration that police unlawfully cancelled their organised concerts that were to be held throughout last year’s Easter season at One love beach Busabala , Arua and Lira districts.
