Uganda Cabinet has approved the signing and ratification of the Uganda-Democratic Republic of Congo Inter- Governmental Agreement -IGA for the Joint Construction of Road Infrastructure.

 

Recently, President Yoweri Museveni and other officials signed major agreements that will see the two countries bolster cross border trade, development and the stabilization of Eastern Congo.

 

The signing ceremony that was held at State House Entebbe was a follow-up to the meeting between President Yoweri Museveni and President Felix Tshisekedi that before took place at the same place when the DRC President  was in Uganda to attend the presidential swearing ceremony of his colleague.

 

Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance says the following outcomes from this agreement expected to strengthen the bilateral relations between Uganda and the DRC, increase evolution of trade between the two countries, improve people to people movement and security and also accelerate regional integration and stability.
