The Buganda Road Court has charged and remanded two top Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) commanders to Luzira prison. 

The ADF commanders Swalleh Abubakar and Sulaiman Nsubuga have been arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi who charged them with two counts of Terrorism Financing and Belonging or professing to belong to a terrorist organization (ADF).

These two ADF commanders were arrested earlier this year and extradited from Zambia to Uganda to face their charges.

They have been remanded until 26th July 2024.

According to a charge sheet, Swalleh Abubakar alias Dog City alias Mupeeta, Sulaiman Nsubuga alias Ibrahim Nkata alias Mzee Lweza and others still at large between 2018 and April 2024 in the diverse areas of Uganda DR Congo, Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa directly or indirectly mobilized funds and procured digital watches, power banks, other essential supplies recruited and transferred recruits or to ADF in Eastern DRC knowing or having reason to believe that such support will be used by the ADF a terrorist organization.
