Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi has defended his move to form alliances with other political players, that its one of the avenues to forge a united front to change the leadership in Uganda.

Appearing on the Radio Sapientia Political Talk Show Omulongooti last evening Kyagulanyi said he cannot be derailed by the fears of the previous alliances since he was not among them however he has to study them but at the same time working with everybody since his pressure group the People Power is not based on any Political Party.

Already People Power has made an alliance with Dr. Kizza Besigye named United Forces of Change (UFC) that was made public on June 15, 2020 with a goal, they said, was to help free Uganda from President Museveni’s misrule and the suffering of the ordinary Ugandan.

The Alliance for National Transformation the newest Opposition political party led by Ret. Gen. Mugisha Muntu is the other party, people power is said to be in talks with over the same interest.

However Kyagulanyi says people should not take these alliances like the old ones where it was left to single individuals, this one is for Ugandans any failure is not owned by one person but all Ugandans.

Kyagulanyi who has already announced his bid for president come 2021, when asked about the issue of scientific campaigning that has raised concern from almost all opposition political players and other stakeholders questioning its fairness, he said the whole Electoral Commission roadmap for the 2020/21 electoral process is taken in favour of President Museveni than organizing an election that is democratic.

To him, the regulations taken by EC basing on the advise from the Ministry of Health officials aimed at avoiding the spread of Covid-19 are not appropriate since other countries like Burundi and Malawi on the African Continent have had elections why not Uganda.
