Jackie Wolfson, the Director of Shule Foundation has reportedly been deported from Uganda over allegations of financing the Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

Human Rights Lawyer, Nicholas Opio, claimed in a tweet that Wolfson was picked up and deported by Ugandan authorities over the weekend.

According to Opio, Wolfson was deported out of Entebbe on Sunday at 11.45pm through KLM Flight 537 for allegedly using her NGO to fund Bobi Wine and the People Power campaign. Opio claims that Wolfson’s travel papers were signed before she was picked up.

Yesterday Wolfson tweeted saying, she had arrived home, sound and safe. She says they do not align to any political affiliation neither in United Sates nor in Uganda and certainly do not fund or donate to political campaigns or politicians in any country.

Shule Foundation is a nonprofit organization, which supports street children and education on a cost sharing model between the organization and parents in Bweyogerere, Kampala.

On July 20th 2018, Shule foundation organised a charity show at Serena show to raise funds to build a school for former street kids. Renowned South African artist Yvone Chaka Chaka and Bobi Wine performed as key artists.

The Information, Communication and Technology Minister, Frank Tumwebaze says that he wasn’t aware about the alleged deportation of Wolfson. He promised to find out. Unconfirmed reports show that Anne Whitehead, Bobi Wine’s Public Relations manager has also left the country under unclear circumstances.
