Police have said Andrew Mukasa of Bajjo Events and a supporter of People Power movement face treason charges.

Mukasa together with others were arrested on Saturday by security officers at Mix Lounge, Centenary Park after a press conference.

Addressing the media at Naguru today, the Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said the Special Investigations Division of the police is investigating Bajjo over a video clip in which he was recorded threatening to overthrow President Museveni’s 33 year rule, before the general election in 2021.

In a video that went viral, Bajjo is seen threatening to oust President Museveni’s government before 2021 and warning the army against standing in their way.

Enanga explained that being a lawfully elected President of Uganda, Museveni enjoys all privileges, adding that it is an offence for anyone to threaten a legitimate government using force.

Meanwhile, Enanga has refuted social media allegations linking the Deputy Inspector General of Police Major General Mzee Sabiit’s private vehicle number plate being used as a security van during an operation in which Bajjo was arrested over the weekend.
