Artiste Walukagga- will fight for Buganda Kingdom

A prominent local artiste Mathias Walukagga, of Kadongo kamu has spoken to our report over their arrest on May 27, 2020 from the Kabaka’s place at Lubiri in Mengo as they staged a peaceful demonstration against the verbal attack on the Katikiro, Charles Peter Mayiga.

Walukagga says the demonstration was to send a message to those who are against Mengo through some individuals, who have come out publically to attack the Katikiro Mayiga among them is Francis Gashumba.

Gashumba alleged that Katikiro has deceived Buganda and in the 7 years period in office since May 2013, he has not accomplished all he promised.

However Walukagga along with some other members came out saying any attack to the Katikiro is an attack to Buganda and must stop.

They were arrested by Police taken to Naggalam Police Station in Mukono and charged with holding unlawful assembly, and trying to spread a deadly disease Coronavirus, although they were granted police bond around 7pm.

Walukagga who is also interested in contesting for the Kyengera Municipality leadership says as a Muganda he will never accept any person purportedly working for some selfish people to attack Buganda as it was in 1966.

In case, any person has got questions over the operations of Mengo he or she must go through the right channels than lambasting mengo and its leadership.
