The Archbishop of Kampala, Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere has participated in the community work conducted by Emmanuel College Senior Secondary School Kazo.


This exercise launched by the His Grace Ssemogerere at Konge Parish last Sunday, is part of the Kampala Archdiocese Education week that started on 7th July 2024 ending this same month on 12th under the theme “We, the Baptized let us Journey together in Communion, Participation and Mission Eph.4:1-16.


Students in their school uniforms accompanied by their teachers cleaned the areas surrounding Emmanuel College SSS Kazo by sweeping the roads and cleaning the drainage systems.


In her speech after the clean-up exercise dubbed Bulungi Bwansi, the Education Supervisor of Kawempe Division, Hajati Rehema Ndagira noted out the importance of teaching young people to conduct community work.


Ndagira says communities have been affected by several diseases related to hygiene due to the rampant littering of garbage, plastics, and polyethylene bags among others in the drainage channels yet such diseases are preventable and avoidable once Bulungi Bwansi is exercised.


The Head Master of Emmanuel College Kazo SSS, Paul Kiguba has applauded Kampala Archdiocese for the Education week initiative which he says will help learners to learn programs such as tree planting, community work among others that are beneficial to their day-to-day lives.
