The Rt. Rev. Dr Steven Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop-elect of the Church of Uganda has said that his ministry will concentrate on three key areas describing it as the conversion of the head, heart and the hand.

He made the revelation during a Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe ahead of his enthronement as the 9th Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, this Sunday, March 1, 2020.

A week after the enthronement, Dr Kazimba will be consecrated as the Bishop of Kampala Diocese at All Saints Cathedral Kampala, replacing His Grace Stanley Ntagali who is retiring after clocking the mandatory retirement age.

The Thanksgiving Service was preceded by a welcome March of the Archbishop Elect alongside the outgoing Archbishop Ntagali from Nankulabye junction via Balintuma road to Namirembe hill.

Kazimba praised God for what he has done for him in his 36 years of Service in the Church noting that God calls nobody to become a “somebody, in front of everybody without consulting anybody.”

In his sermon during the Thanksgiving Service, the Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira reminded Kaziimba that he is being guided by the will of God but at the same time warning him against the temptations in the wilderness.

The outgoing Archbishop Ntagali welcomed Kaziimba to Namirembe describing it as a hill of peace. He said he was ready to relinquish the position and officially hands over to Kaziimba come Sunday, March 1.

He also described Kaziimba as a humble person but warned that his humbleness does not mean weaknesses but rather well-informed decisions, wisdom and other values.
