The General court martial has charged six security operatives over espionage.

 

The accused include; Second Lieutenant Kasamula Alex an officer with UPDF attached to Military police, Second Lieutenant Philip Ankunda an officer with UPDF attached to SFC, PTE Ndwaine Nathan a student and flight engineer,PTE Asiimwe Moses a militant attached to Airforce wing Nakasongola,PTE Mugabi Godfrey  a militant with UPDF  attached to Airforce Wing Nakasongola, ASP Akandwanaho Benon a police officer attached to Kira police station as Community Liason Officer and ASP Sabiiti Frank a police officer attached to counter Terrorism police Mutukula boarder post.

 

It is alleged that the group between the month of February 2020 and May 2020 while in various places of Kampala district shared sensitive information with the Agency of Rwandese Authority security with intent to prejudice security of the defence force.

 

However the accused have denied the charge and the state prosecutors led by Leiutenant colonel Raphael Mugisha have revealed to court chaired by Lieutenant General Andrew Gutti that investigations into the case are still ongoing thus prayed that the matter be adjourned to the 31st August 2020 for mention which court granted thus remanded the accused to Military police Quarter Guard Makindye.
