10 of 12 guns stolen from police officers recovered

Police have disclosed at least 10 guns so far recovered from those recently stolen from police stations and officers during the violent attacks by unknown criminals.

According to police, a total of 12 guns were robbed from police stations and officers in the violent attacks by the Allied Defense Forces- ADF terrorists especially between 2021 and 2022.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that among the recovered guns two of them which were stolen from police officers at Bungokho Police Post in Mbale, were recovered after the arrest of one Ivan Wepukulu.

Enanga says that they are still looking for the remaining two guns that were stolen from police officers in an attack at Kiwumpa checkpoint in Luweero district last year.

This is under the efforts of curbing gun crimes in the country that is targeting all suspects involved in robbing and stealing guns from security personnel.
