The Catholic Bishops in Uganda have warned that the country would slip into anarchy with many harbouring the revenge mentality due to corruption perpetrated by public officers.

In his homily while celebrating a Eucharistic celebration on the second day of the Golden Jubilee conference celebration of the Uganda Catholic Charismatic Renewal at the Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo, the Bishop Chairman of the Uganda Episcopal Conference (UEC), Dr Joseph Antony Zziwa, said public servants have ashamed the government, with many getting arraigned in courts of law over corruption and misappropriation of public funds.

This comes amidst the ongoing investigations and arrests of alleged corrupt officials and Members of parliament.

Bishop Zziwa who is also the ordinary of Kiyinda-Mityana diocese notes that the corrupt that would be the custodians of what belongs to all Ugandans prove to be lacking the voice of God to utilize their gifts from the Holy Spirit to serve others.

To the members of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Bishop Zziwa encouraged them to be good ambassadors and stewards of the gospel.

He has also advised them to work as a team and remain united if they are to lead and live by example.
