The Archbishop of Kampala, Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere has rallied the alumni of St Mary’s National Major Seminary Ggaba to take over the responsibilities of funding the seminary after the phasing out of the foreign support.

Delivering his speech at St Mary’s National Major Seminary Ggaba during the celebration of 50 years on Saturday, Archbishop Ssemogerere says the support from the donor funders to the seminary has which requires the old boys to stand in these gaps for the institution to continue running.

The Catholic clerical training institution located in Makindye division in Kampala clocked 50 years in 2020 after having come into existence in 1970.

His Grace Ssemogerere further urged the seminary to focus on her task of producing more priests who have enthusiasm for the gospel and passion for evangelism among the people of God.

The Archbishop also encouraged the priests to continue preparing homilies that touch the lives of people and called on the seminarians to learn living in community life which at times could be very difficult.
