The chairman of the Uganda Medical Workers’ Union Dr Apollo Nyangasi has been sent on remand in Luzira Prison on allegations of murdering his wife.

Dr Nyangasi is also a pharmacist at Soroti Hospital.

Kira Court Grade Two Magistrate Richard Nuwagira has remanded Dr Nyangasi to Luzira prison until the 12th of next month.

Court did not allow him to enter any plea because the offence of murder is only tried by the High Court.

Prosecution alleges that Dr Nyangasi killed his wife of 15 years Christine Nyangasi last week, after a domestic quarrel over control of family property.
