The commissioner of agriculture and animal industry Samuel Ssemanda says the forum will run from the 4th to 6th October this year.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officially open the forum, which will be held at Speke Resort, Munyonyo.

Ssemanda says the agribusiness forum aims at increasing food production, processing, examining business opportunities and food security among others.

He notes that Uganda’s problem is not the quantity of food production but storage and processing methods.

He adds that during the forum, people will acquire skills of improving the quality of food production to match global standards.

In less than a week, the police in Kampala have rescued another baby from its kidnapper.

Early this week, police rescued and handed over to its parents a 4 ˝ year old boy, who had been kidnapped with the help of a housemaid.

Police said the 1year old boy, Victor Mubangizi, had been kidnapped on Tuesday from his mother Shamim Namatovu, a resident of Katanga, Kimwanyi zone.

Namatovu had given shelter to the woman only identified as Ruth, after she (Ruth) didn’t find her boyfriend she had come to visit.

Police said when Namatovu escorted another visitor, Ruth disappeared with the baby.

Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Ibin Idi Ssenkumbi says the baby was found in Ndeeba, but Ruth escaped. Ssenkumbi says the police are still hunting for Ruth, and she will be charged in court.
