The IPC women from 5 different political parties subscribing to the ideology of the coalition have today met the speaker of Parliament, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekadi.
The women have decried the deplorable state of the conditions under which they deliver, saying Uganda records one of the lowest rates of safe motherhood in the world with 16 mothers dying everyday during labour.
Speaking with a resolute mind, the women who included Olive Olowo of SDP, Nandawula Sulaina of Jeema, Turinaawe Ingrid, the de-facto leader from FDC, Nassuna Asiati Kamulali of CP and Turinaawe Phiona of UPC, also say that the Electoral Commission comprises grossly incompetent staff under the Partisan Kiggundu which should be disbanded if the country is to have record free and fair elections and the subsequent that may arise out of the situation.
