The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) is to take two weeks holding its assembly sessions in Uganda.

The sessions which began today, are being held in parliamentary chambers until the 18th of this month.

The 3rd meeting of the 3rd session in the Second Assembly will be officially opened by President Yoweri Museveni tomorrow afternoon.

According to the Speaker of the EALA Abdirahin Abdi, the special session will see them discussing, debating and passing the EAC Tourism Bill 2008, EAC Election Bill 2008 and Lake Victoria Basin Commission Bill 2007.

Other notable business will include questions to the council of ministers and interaction with various Ugandan parliamentary committee and Ugandans.

The assembly was established in November 2001 with three partner states, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, which now includes Rwanda and Burundi.
