Parliament has summoned the minister of Education and Sports Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire with her team, to respond to a number of concerns.

Among these concerns is the increasing number of failures at various education standards.

The chairperson of the parliamentary committee on Social Services Rosemary Sseninde says although the pass rate is ever increasing, those who failed both primary seven and senior four are many.

At least 7,000 and 9,000 candidates failed primary seven and senior four respectively.

MP Sseninde says besides the budgetary needs, minister Bitamazire will have to answer concerns regarding the failure rate.

She adds that their advice to have enough science text books, laboratories and teachers, must be implemented by the government.
